6th Ivory Keys for Cancer successfully held

Ivory Keys for Cancer Charity Concert was successfully held on November 30, 2019.  The event raised a total of $5450 for Canadian Cancer Society.  It covered five different periods or styles of piano music and provided audiences a joyful experience of distinctive yet coherently beautiful performances.  The master of ceremonies was 11 years Pallas Shen, who introduced each performer with details and passion.  The first performer was 2019 CMC 1st place winner of 12-year-old group Frederick Huang, who played Beethoven Concert No. 1.  The next piece was Prokofiev Concerto No.3, performed by Haolin Li, who was the 1st place winner of 2017 Markham Music Festival and the event organizer.  Jason Cheng, 1st place winner of 2019 CMC 14-year-old group, played his winning piece Chopin Concerto in E minor that brought him 3rd place award in 2019 Canadian Chopin Piano Competition Junior Division.  The last student performer was 2nd place winner of 2019 CMC 11-year-old group Jarmin Weng, who passionately played Ravel Concerto in G major.  The much anticipated finale was the piano adaptation of Chinese music “The Butterfly Lovers”, performed by alumni Sunny Ren and Ken Yang, who both won top places at CMC in the past. Stay tuned for video and pictures of the event!
